The
house of Gerhart and Carl Hauptman constituting
part of the Karkonoskie Museum. 23

It was constructed at the end of XIX century
and having undergone the adaptation it has
become the Museum of the Hauptman Brothers
since 1994.
Permanent exhibitions:

Gerhart
Hauptman (1862 – 1946) – German writer
and playwright, the winner of
Nobel Prize.
•
Carl
Hauptman (1858 – 1921) – German writer
and playwright who translated the novel
“Chłopi” (“Peasants”) by W. Reymont
into German.
•
Vlastimil
Hofman (1881 – 1970) – painter and the
disciple of Jacek Malczewski and Jan Stanisławski,
stylistics of the Młoda Polska period
paintings.

house of Wlastimil Hofman –
museum at the moment. 14 Matejki str.
W. Hofman (1881 – 1970) – painter of
Czech origin, the disciple of J. Malczewski,
painted in this house in the years 1947 –
1970.

house of Jan Sztaudynger. 55
1st Maja str.
J.I. Sztaudynger (1904 – 1970) –
satirist, poet, lived and created in this
house in the years 1946 – 1950.
The
church under the invocation of Boże Ciało
(The Body of Christ) 2nd Wyszyńskiego str
Constructed in the years 1884 – 1886,
representing the neo-romantic style, inside
one can admire paintings by W. Hofman.

The
church under the invocation of Niepokalane
Serce NMP (Virgin Heart) Piastowska
str.
Constructed in the years 1855 – 1887, the
interior of the church is decorated with a
baroque pulpit, historic chandeliers and
paintings by W. Hofman.

The
graveyard church, Pistowska str.
A neo-gothic chapel constructed in 1650 and
reconstructed in 1819 including the late
renaissance altar
“The
Lucas’s Mill”, 16 1st Maja str.
An old water mill at Kamieńczyk, made
of stone and wood, of segmented and several
storeys high construction, decorated by
figural sculpture, reconstructed about 1870
and turned into an inn, called today “Złota
Jama” (“The Golden Cave”).

Old
Sudety Huts (sheds) – wooden and
stone-wooden constructions originating in
the XIX century. They can be seen in the
suburbs of Szklarska Poręba called Biała
Dolina, Marysin and Szklarka. The oldest one
called Szamanówka is situated at No 24 11th
Listopada street and dates back to 1740.
